City football Group and SAP are going to change to soccer with the use of technology

Global partnership will help the CFG streamline operations, enhance the relationship with fans and boost the performance of players and teams, including Manchester City

SAP and the City Football Group (CFG) announce a global marketing and technology partnership that will transform the way the group and its teams work, from the Boardroom to the soccer fields. SAP will become the “Official Cloud Software Vendor” and trusted advisor in the technology area of ​​the City Football Group and its four teams around the world, including Manchester City (male and female), New York City, Melbourne City and Yokohama F. Marinos.

City Football Group and its clubs will implement a wide range of cloud-based solutions supported by the SAP HANA platform. The goal is to streamline CFG operations on a global scale, expand its business, increase productivity and enhance the fan experience. Another important element of the partnership will be the joint work to co-operate and develop new applications aimed at analyzing and raising the performance of players and coaches.

More efficient business operations
City Football Group will use SAP cloud solutions, including SuccessFactors, the social collaboration platform SAP Jam and SAP Simple Finance, all of which are processed in real time by the SAP HANA solution. In this way, the CFG intends to improve, respectively, talent management and HR processes, promote a higher level of collaboration among employees worldwide and simplify financial management.

SAP analytics solutions, including SAP Predictive Analytics software and SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence tools, will form the basis of the new CFG infrastructure to make information available to those who need to analyze and simulate all data, from issuing tickets to merchandising, so that decision-makers throughout the organization can work faster and based on more business data.

Better fan experience
High technology will be greatly explored to enhance the fan experience at CFG stadiums around the world, including an interactive digital dashboard at Etihad Stadium that will provide real-time scans and feedback to fans who are following the matches.

Together, SAP and CFG aim to change the way CFG team supporters access and consume football data, allowing them to follow games differently and understand them in more relevant ways. To provide an even better experience for fans, CFG will use SAP solutions for customer engagement and trade management software and customer experience software from hybris, a SAP company.

Team and Player Performance
Thinking ahead, the City Football Group will work with SAP to co-develop and develop new technology enhancements in the areas of talent management and football in future releases of the newly launched SAP Sports One application.
