Management software alone makes it easier to manage costs, revenues and what needs to be done within a company. However, if it aggregates all areas of the enterprise or rural property, the gains can be even greater, especially by avoiding the need for rework and providing real-time information about what happens in the various activities performed.
Excel spreadsheets for the most diverse controls, combined with the experiences of its managers with various ERPs (Enterprise Resource Planning, or integrated management system) during their careers in other companies, taking as examples the need for implementations and connections with other management software that needed to be coupled to such ERPs, led the Guarujá Group to look for an instrument that would provide agility, ease of use and practicality in field routines combined with cost management and perfect planning that would help them in decision-making.
With 18,000 hectares divided between four properties in Mato Grosso do Sul and one in Mato Grosso, the Guarujá Group operates in various agricultural activities, such as beef cattle in the rearing phases on pasture and finishing in confinement, genetic dairy farming, breeding and production of milk on pasture, in addition to agriculture with the production of grains such as soybeans and corn and the cultivation of sugar cane aimed exclusively at the production of forage (silage) from the confinement.
“Liberali showed us an opportunity for a unique and native SAP solution through SAP Business One with reports and monitoring focused on our area of activity, and easy access to the development team, in case of need for customization”, says the Luiz Venturi, director of the Guarujá Group.
SAP Business One, reveals Luiz Venturi, brought the need to the group to use clear controls and production processes and with this the need for professionalization and commitment of the farm and office team, resulting in greater accuracy of information and controls, raw material for decision making. “The response has been good for the team, especially when it realizes the advantages and improved productivity without reworking information and for the company in terms of efficiency gains, workforce reduction and credibility”.
The relationship between the Mato Grosso multinational Liberali, SAP and the Guarujá Group is more than six years old and each year evolves in parallel with the growth of the three companies, creating routines and forms of communication between the teams.
According to Luiz Venturi, all areas of activity show growth with the help of SAP Business One. “Our operation until 2015 was only for rearing and fattening cattle on pasture, so SAP B1 monitored and shaped the implementation of all activities. The confinement began in 2018 with 10,000 animals slaughtered and has been growing year by year. In 2021 we will slaughter 27,000 heads and we intend to reach 45,000 heads in another three years.”
Also according to the director of the Guarujá Group, in 2016 the company began planting soybeans and corn and has also been experiencing a high rate of growth in planted area. “We currently have 4,300 hectares in this harvest and we intend to reach 6,000 hectares in another three years. Our milk production began in 2017 with around 40 cows and we currently have 230 lactating cows, intending to double in size in the next two years. In this way, controlling our activities and monitoring costs and expenses in real time makes us comfortable with the numbers of our operation and, once we have this information, we can grow in a planned, healthy and efficient way.”
